Franklin, NC

Our first day off the trail! After 10 days of solid walking, we were both ready for showers and resupply. We were picked up by Ronnie Havens (pictured right) in his school bus shuttle and dropped off here in Franklin to stay at his motel. He's quite the picker and singer: he treated us to some fine Chet Atkins renditions on Matt's backpacker guitar. He also regaled us with tales of local mountain folk and kept us in stitches all the way into Franklin.

DUDE! So excited for you and can't wait to hear more of your adventure details! It's quite an adventure you've embarked on, and the offer still stands to hang out in New York with Holly and I when you get up here. Love you, bro, and miss you're company.
Cheers

I can't believe you got to see that. Those are some gorgeous views...and hard-earned. Be looking for something at Hot Springs. We'll send some baked goods. You keep writing.
